Why Can't People Control Themselves?

Work, work, work. It's all I ever seem to do. I don't hate it, but it is sometimes exhausting. It's only exhausting because people feel the need to tell me their whole life story after they consume 3 or 4 drinks (sometimes more). Don't get me wrong, I love bartending; however, it does try my patience sometimes. It is a great occupation for many reasons... money, friends, and the overall knowledge you gain from it. But... it chaps my ass when I have to carry someone out or cut a drunken idiot off because he is licking other guests.

Let's refer to an example from about a month ago. I'm working in the morning and a woman who was there the night before walks up to my bar. She is wearing the same outfit from the night before and also looks like she has been attacked/raped by about a dozen monkeys. Let's just say she was looking ROUGH! Anyway, she orders vodka and cranberry doubles. I don't think anything of it until she is on her fourth vodka and cranberry double in about two hours time. She is wasted at 1:00 in the afternoon. She starts slobbering all over herself and the bar. I go to get my manager who then calls a cab for her. I then have to carry her out into the cab and to my and my manager's suprise her legs spread as she is getting into the car to reveal a bare vaginal viewing for the both of us. How lovely.

No, not so lovely. I walked back into the restaurant to find slobber all over my own hands. What the hell is wrong with people? I mean, I know people have issues, but this is just too much. I see this happen to someone (not too this extent) all the time. Why can't people control themselves? I have seriously began to lose faith in the human race. Come on people! If you have had 4 double vodka and cranberrys by 1:00 in the afternoon, you need to get ahold of yourself and quit it! Take control of your life!

There's my tangent for the day... sorry if it offended any of you, but if you fall into this category, you needed to hear it anyway. I'm going to keep bartending and keep posting my ridiculous, but sometimes great stories for your enjoyment. Stay tuned...

P.S. Here is a little youtube video that pretty much sums up how I feel about bartending sometimes... you should enjoy it :)
